Background

Since the release of  madCAM in spring 2003, the first completely integrated CAM-plug-in for Rhino3, we have been developing madCAM to optimise the integration of new CNC tools with Rhinoceros modelling functions. With this we have imtegrated many suggestions made by our customers. Our continued policy is to react quickly to provide tools and support our customers ask for.

To satisfy the demand for more sophisticated machine control we have introduced enhanced 3,4 and 5 axis functions. We hav now also introduced simultaneous 4-axis and 4+1-axis machining .The software has been developed within our own mould making division, ensuring immediate and practical feed back. In this way we are confident that MadCAM achieves an unparalleled level of control and machining quality. We know our customers can rely on madCAM because we use every day in our own production.

The  Entry Level version – 3D Tool path generation..

Many tool makers, pattern makers, mould makers, wood machinists, enginners boat builders and sculptors will find our 3 axis version sufficient for their needs.

This version will also be suitable for those on needing 2D cutting.

The  Four-axis version – 3 and 4 Axis toolpath generation..

This version includes 3-axis and simultaneous 4-axis toolpath generation.

The Expert Level version 3, 4 and 5 Axis cutting.

This version brings includes re-machining, simultaneous 4-axis and indexed 5 axis control for use with an 5-axis machine. You may find this extra degree of sophistication necessary for your particular projects.

  * madCAM automatically separates surfaces that are relatively horizontal and

     vertical respectively. The limit between vertical surfaces and horizontal surfaces

     is set with an angle measured normal to the surface.

 ** Any 2D or 3-axis function can be used as indexed 4 and 5-axis machining.

*** The toolpath curves are generated as Rhino curves and can be edited

       as any curve object in Rhino

Rhino is an exceptionally easy to use, easy to learn, highly capable 3D modeller with a very flexible modelling processes. It also has one of the very best translators to enable you to swap files. Together madCAM and Rhino still offer exceptional value for money when compared with competing software. Some customers will find the file translation utilities within Rhino to be worth the purchase price alone, but most will soon find the modelling tools and mesh handling tools become daily visitors to their screens.

Over view

Create a new model in Rhino or import it from many other systems and madCAM will generate toolpaths directly. madCAM is fully integrated into the Rhino platform. Menus are automatically set up and easy to use within a completely seamless interface.
